Regional Dialogue on Climate-Security in Northern Central America

    This regional dialogue was convened by adelphi in partnership with UNU-CPR and the Climate and Security Mechanism.

    The objectives of the regional dialogue are to bring together existing analytical work and evidence in a more integrated and nuanced understanding of the interlinkages between climate change impacts and the nexus of poverty, social conflict, violence and migration in Northern Central America, as well as respective knowledge gaps and research needs; produce a context-specific narrative and framing of climate-related security risks in Northern Central America to inform UN programs and engagement with other actors (e.g. government); and to identify existing action at international, regional as well as national and local levels to address these risks, as well as platforms for cross-border cooperation.
