Sebastian von Einsiedel spoke to the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Hervé Ladsous, on current and future challenges for UN peacekeeping including the rapid increase in deployed peacekeeping personnel, new responsibilities to protect civilians, and the tendency of the Security Council to deploy peacekeeping operations to situations with no peace to keep.
