Dr Caroline Nalule is a Research Fellow at United Nations University Centre for Policy Research, supporting its Equitable Development and Migration pillar of work.
Dr Nalule has more than ten years of experience working in the field of human rights and international law and currently works with the South-South Migration, Inequality and Development Hub (MIDEQ) as a research fellow focusing on legal remedies and access to justice. Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Refugee Studies Centre of Oxford University, working on the European Research Council Funded project Refugees Are Migrants: Refugee Mobility, Recognition and Rights. Dr Nalule has conducted extensive research on refugee recognition processes in Kenya and South Africa.
She holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, where her thesis focused on migration rights of citizens in the East African Community.
