Alexandra Cerquone is the Events Manager at United Nations University Centre for Policy Research, having joined in November 2015. She is an operations and project management specialist, with experience of large-scale event and project planning.
Ms Cerquone started her career in Washington DC, working for the World Bank’s Latin American Sector for Economic Development as Program Assistant, where she organised large-scale events that focused on poverty reduction in the Americas region. She further assisted in project development for the Latin American region through operations in Education, Social Protection and Health regarding proposal, creation and post-program evaluation for projects in order to ensure its overall competitiveness and quality.
Ms Cerquone later transitioned to the Inter-American Development Bank’s Social Protection Sector as an Operations Consultant. In this role, she supported projects by analyzing and reviewing technical specifications for managerial and operational documents within the Labor Markets Unit and ensured human resources procedures were followed.
A Venezuelan-Italian-American citizen, she is bilingual in Spanish and English, fluent in Italian, and conversational in Portuguese. She undertook her undergraduate degree in International Affairs and Latin American Studies at The George Washington University’s Elliot School and is currently undertaking a Master's degree in Events Management, Protocol and Ceremonial and Institutional Relations from Escuela Internacional de Protocolo (Spain).
